The Romande Energie Group attaches great importance to privacy, and to the protection of your personal data. This data is therefore treated with the utmost care in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Data Protection Act (DPA) and the Ordinance on the Federal Data Protection Act (ODPA). This charter is applied by all entities of the Romande Energie Group, which are majority owned by Romande Energie Holding SA.

1. Use of personal data

a.) What personal data are processed ?

We collect, store, and process the personal data that are communicated to us in the context of our contractual relationship (last name, first name, address, telephone numbers, e-mail, date of birth, information required for the contractual relationship or to respond to a request, etc.).

When you provide us with personal data, whether on our online services, by telephone or in writing, you agree that this information may be stored, processed, and transmitted for the purposes stated.

However, personal data transmitted to Romande Energie SA as distribution system operator is treated as strictly confidential in accordance with Art. 10 of the Electricity Supply Act.

b.) What do we use your personal data for ?

We may use your personal data to communicate with you as part of our contractual relationship, to issue invoices, to ensure a high quality of service, to manage our customer relationships, and for marketing purposes such as providing you with personalised offers and information.

c.) By whom and where are personal data processed ?

Your personal data is used by Romande Energie and its associated companies. It may also be passed on to third parties if this is necessary for the processing of the contractual relationship, and they will process it in accordance with data protection legislation.

2. Security of personal data

We take the necessary technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised processing and to ensure its confidentiality, availability, and integrity. These measures are designed to protect personal data in our computer system against the following risks: accidental or unauthorised deletion, accidental loss, technical error, falsification, theft, unlawful use, modification, copying, access or any other unauthorised action. We also ensure that your personal data is adequately protected and secured when we transfer it to affiliated companies or service providers in Switzerland or abroad.

Please note that the Internet is not a secure medium and that unauthorised third parties may have access to data transmitted in this environment. This can lead to the publication or modification of such data, or to technical problems. Despite extensive technical and organisational security measures, the loss of personal data, their interception or manipulation by unauthorised persons cannot be excluded.

3. Your rights

The law gives you the right to access your personal data, as well as the right to rectify, delete and block it. You can exercise these rights by sending a request to info@romande-energie.ch.

You can object to the receipt of advertisements and the processing of your data for marketing and advertising purposes at any time with effect for the future by writing to  info@romande-energie.ch or Romande Energie, customer relations department, rue de Lausanne 53, 1110 Morges.
